The ultra consistent TRIXIE MALONE makes a winning start to the year at Catterick with usual rider Joey Haynes on board, she may be blind in one eye but that never seems to alter her toughness and enthusiasm for racing. Trixie is one of the yard favourites and has now won five of her twelve starts.
RITA'S BOY was narrowly denied again going down by just a neck in the sprint handicap at Nottingham, he was very unlucky as he was hampered badly early on which looked the difference between him winning and being second. He loves the softer going and should get his head back infront again soon.
YOURARTISONFIRE seems to relish in the spring and after coming third in the spring mile he romped to victory under a fine ride by Silvestor De Sousa to win the mile handicap comfortably.
YANKEE MAIL made easy work of her first ever run when winning with ears pricked in the three year old maiden under Joey Haynes, he felt she had a lot more to come and with her enjoying abit of cut in the ground and being French bred she may head across the water to compete for the great French premiums.
PushingMyPatience a daughter of Azamour also was having her first racecourse experience but was narrowly denied by a head at Redcar by a more experienced rival in the apprentice rider maiden. She ran very green and should improve for the run and possibly an extra furlong.
REVE DE NUIT soon becoming the King of Southwell having won there seven times from eleven runs did it again under Joey Haynes when taking the one and half mile claimer in easy fashion.
TOOCOOLFORSCHOOL ran a pleasing first run back stepped back upto 7 furlongs in the Greenham stakes at Newbury to finish fifth. It was a Group 1 in all but name with some of the top two year olds from last year coming together, the ground was on the fast side and proved to fast for Toocool who won easily on soft going in the Mill reef stakes last year. He will now head back sprinting and will be aimed at Haydock in May.
