HAVANA GREY our two year old stable star...
Mon, Aug 14, 2017
HAVANA GREY our two year old stable star this season defied heavy ground on a drenched Glorious Goodwood to make all and win the Group 3 Molecomb stakes under regular rider PJ McDonald. He showed guts and versatility to win on Ground far from ideal and to do it in impressive fashion he has earnt himself a trip to France to take on the Prix Morny Group 1.

SEDUCE ME made it two wins back to back as she has enjoyed the recent wet weather and ease of conditions under foot, this time to win at Epsom again under Jim Crowley.

MYBOYHENRY also made it two wins from his last two starts when taking the Novice stakes under a penalty back up at Musselburgh, the son of footstepsinthesand may also now head to France for a Listed contest.

BEATBOX RHYTHM took the maiden at Pontefract by four lengths on his second racecourse start under PJ MCDonald who is sponsored by owner John Dance, he is a lovely colt and is bred to keep progressing.

SOCIETYS DREAM got her head infront to break her maiden with a win in the Redcar Seller for owners Hambleton Racing.

SATISFY joined us this year after being over in Ireland in training with Joseph O'Brien and made a winning debut with us to win the fillies handicap at Leicester under Royston Ffrench, the daughter of New Approach enjoyed the step up in trip and won nicely.

APRES MIDI gets back to winning ways at Windsor under Harry Bentley, the daughter of Galileo had slightly lost her way this season after a very promising first run back so we were all delighted to see her get back into the winners enclosure. This will hopefully give her a nice confidence boost and come on for it.

We are delighted with our last weeks racing results...
Mon, July 31, 2017
We are delighted with our last weeks racing results with the rain around it suited a lot of our horses we ended the week on eight winners and seven place horses.

RAYDIANCE took the honours at Ascot having only his third racecourse start and his first at Listed level when winning the Pat Eddery stakes on Saturday battling hard in the soggy conditions under a fine ride from Jim Crowley. He is a really tough colt who only ever does enough at home and loves the ground soft.

GEORGIAN BAY made it a double on the day when notching his first turf win having had plenty of placed efforts and success on the all weather in the Ladies race with the excellent Katie Walsh on board.

MJJACK was another runner at Ascot that enjoys the wet conditions and finished in second place being narrowly denied in the Heritage handicap.

LONDON PROTOCOL who has ran very well in France on many occasions landed the conditions race under Tony Piccone at Compiegne to pick up the wonderful prize money and owners premiums they have on offer there. He is likely to head back there for the Deauville meeting in August.

SEDUCE ME put up a fine display winning the fillies handicap at Newbury by eight lengths, she is a filly who thoroughly enjoyed the give underfoot and the extra distance stepping upto one mile.

CROWN VALLERY ran a very promising race in second on her debut at Thirsk and should come on for that run aswell as SUNDAY PROSPECT who was making his season debut and only his second ever racecourse start finished in second place running on well.

We have enjoyed a good few days ...
Wed, July 26, 2017

We have enjoyed a good few days both here and over in France starting off with LAURENS racecourse debut being a winning one at Doncaster. The imposing daughter of Siyouni was snapped up by owner John Dance at the Goffs Uk yearling sales for £220,000 and expectations were high for her debut. She didn't disappoint and travelled smoothly through the race to then draw clear in the final furlong under a hands and heels ride from PJ McDonald with the eventual second running on well close home.

BEATBOX RHYTHM nearly made it a double on the day for owner John Dance but got a bit tired on the softer going and finished second after making the running also on his debut, he will have learnt a lot from this and should come on a bundle.

UNFORTUNATELY a colt who on his last two starts has gone down by a neck turned it around wearing first time visors and made his first attempt in Group company a winning one when scoring by half a length in the Prix Robert Papin at Maisons Laffitte in France. The rules are very strict in France and as he waved off a straight line in the final furlong which caused a French trained horse slight interference the French are objecting to the decision made by the stewards on the day that awarded us to keep the race and placings to remain unaltered so we are awaiting news to whether we keep the race after the objection. It would be a huge disappointment to loose a prestigious Group 2 race when he was clearly the best horse on the day and was galloping away through the line. He may now head to the Prix Morny back in France or Glorious Goodwood.

LONDON PROTOCOL a regular visitor to France scored in the Conditions race at Compiegne under Tony Piccone making that his second win in France and as he is French bred he also picked up the brilliant French premiums on offer.

MY BOY HENRY a two year old colt by Footstepsinthesand stepped up to seven furlongs for his second racecourse outing up in Scotland at Musselburgh ridden by Clifford Lee, he settled behind the leaders and once pulled out ran on strongly to score by over a length.

For Stable staff week we had a team BBQ at the yard organised by senior member of Staff Mark Simms and Angus Johnston supplied the entertainment with his singing and guitar which went down a treat! We have a great team of staff and it was nice to enjoy a night all together.

We have been very busy down at the sales..
Tue, July 18, 2017
We have been very busy down at the sales selling 14 horses at Tattersalls and also had one sell at the Ascot sales which has freed up some boxes for the more backward two year olds to come into.

We have had quite a few placed horses this week with STAR OF ZAAM finishing second at Carlisle stepped up to 7 furlongs then we had both TWIZZELL and MEDICI BANCHIERE running well in defeat both finishing in third.
