FIRST TRIP TO QATAR!

FIRST TRIP TO QATAR - Rivellino was invited to run in the Katara Sprint after winning the
Listed at Lingfield so we took up the offer and headed to Qatar for a week in
the sun. It was our first trip to Qatar and we were delighted to be invited to
there big international meeting. We were looked after superbly and although the
ground was a little too firm on the day for Rivellino it was a great experience
and would be delighted to be invited back in years to come.
We are busy
gearing up for the Turf Season ahead and although we have been quiet on the
runners front we have been busy at the yard preparing our up and coming runners
which we should have plenty out in April.
RIVELLINO TAKES THE LISTED FAST TRACK QUALIFIER FOR 2nd YEAR!

RIVELLINO TAKES THE LISTED FAST TRACK QUALIFIER FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR! Rivellino the tough son of Invincible Spirit thrives around Lingfield and once again battled to get his head in front to insure his place on Good Friday at the Final. His great performance also earned him an invitation to The Qatar Emirs Sword sprint which is one of there International races and we plan to head there before the Final.
DAISY BERE wins at 66-1 under a fine ride from Joey Haynes, she is a daughter of Peer Gynt and was always a big two year old who took time to mature but patience paid off and she put her first run where she was slow away and ran very green behind her to battle out and win on only her second start. Daisy then was very unlucky not to follow up with back to back wins when going down by a neck on her third run but she was taken right across the track by the eventual winner.
YEEOOW continued his run of good form and finished third back at Kempton in a handicap under Justin Newman, he is likely to head straight to the turf now.
WINGS OF ESTEEM denies heavily backed favourite to win on her second start at Southwell under Joey Haynes. The strong daughter of Sir Percy finished second on debut also at Southwell running a bit green early but she did everything right second time out and won gamely.
WE HAVE STARTED 2016 IN HIGH SPIRITS...
Wed, Jan 20, 2016
We have started the New Year in high spirits and have had a few winners to get the ball rolling on the All weather which we are all delighted about.
YEEOOW got his head back in front dropped into a claimer at Linfield, he broke well and although a horse who is usually covered up he shot to the front and made all the running under a positive ride from Dougie Costello. He is a seven year old now and like many older sprinters trying something a bit different can bring out the best in them.
INTENSE TANGO ran another solid race in defeat after getting beat a head at Chelmsford she went to Lingfield and finished third in the Conditions stakes there finding the track and drop back to 1mile 4furlongs a little too sharp for her.
ZAINAT back from a break, gelded and running on the all weather for the first time put up a much improved performance to win nicely under a very confident ride by newly appointed stable jockey Dougie Costello. We were delighted to get a first win for Qatar based owner Mr Hassan Abdul Malik who also owns Zainat's sire Masterofthehorse. There should be more improvement in him.
UNDERTOW having only her third run under Joey Haynes made it a winning one at her first try at Southwell, she is a big filly who should come on from this having taken time to grow into herself and mature as a two year old.
SKINNY LOVE retires to stud.

SKINNY LOVE retires to stud. Skinny Love has been a great mare to train since owner Tim Dykes claimed her back in late 2014. She notched up five wins and some very creditable placed efforts last season after having surgery on her knee to remove chips. She is a very tough mare and always gave her best, hopefully this will get passed on to her off spring.
We have had a good start to 2016 with CARBUTT'S RIDGE winning at Southwell pulling clear under a well judged ride from Dougie Costello. He will run on the All weather through the next few months.
PEARL CASTLE put in a great effort back over hurdles to finish second in the feature race at Musselburgh on New Years Day.
INTENSE TANGO made her all weather debut as although the plan was to continue her hurdle career as she was so successful last season the wet conditions do not suit her and she proved ever versatile when going down by a nose in a photo finish at Chelmsford in the stayers handicap.
JOLIEVITESSE has started to learn to relax and as a result he has been finishing his races far better in recent times on the All weather, the right handed track at Kempton seems to suit and Joey Haynes gets on very well with him. All connections were very pleased to see him run on to go down only by a head when finishing second on his latest run at Kempton. He will have a short break and head back there in March.
