We have started the New Year in high spirits and have had a few winners to get the ball rolling on the All weather which we are all delighted about.

YEEOOW got his head back in front dropped into a claimer at Linfield, he broke well and although a horse who is usually covered up he shot to the front and made all the running under a positive ride from Dougie Costello. He is a seven year old now and like many older sprinters trying something a bit different can bring out the best in them.

INTENSE TANGO ran another solid race in defeat after getting beat a head at Chelmsford she went to Lingfield and finished third in the Conditions stakes there finding the track and drop back to 1mile 4furlongs a little too sharp for her.

ZAINAT back from a break, gelded and running on the all weather for the first time put up a much improved performance to win nicely under a very confident ride by newly appointed stable jockey Dougie Costello. We were delighted to get a first win for Qatar based owner Mr Hassan Abdul Malik who also owns Zainat's sire Masterofthehorse. There should be more improvement in him.

UNDERTOW having only her third run under Joey Haynes made it a winning one at her first try at Southwell, she is a big filly who should come on from this having taken time to grow into herself and mature as a two year old.

SKINNY LOVE retires to stud.

SKINNY LOVE retires to stud. Skinny Love has been a great mare to train since owner Tim Dykes claimed her back in late 2014. She notched up five wins and some very creditable placed efforts last season after having surgery on her knee to remove chips. She is a very tough mare and always gave her best, hopefully this will get passed on to her off spring.

We have had a good start to 2016 with CARBUTT'S RIDGE winning at Southwell pulling clear under a well judged ride from Dougie Costello. He will run on the All weather through the next few months.

PEARL CASTLE put in a great effort back over hurdles to finish second in the feature race at Musselburgh on New Years Day.

INTENSE TANGO made her all weather debut as although the plan was to continue her hurdle career as she was so successful last season the wet conditions do not suit her and she proved ever versatile when going down by a nose in a photo finish at Chelmsford in the stayers handicap.

JOLIEVITESSE has started to learn to relax and as a result he has been finishing his races far better in recent times on the All weather, the right handed track at Kempton seems to suit and Joey Haynes gets on very well with him. All connections were very pleased to see him run on to go down only by a head when finishing second on his latest run at Kempton. He will have a short break and head back there in March.

We are currently busy with plenty of yearlings who are now almost all ridden and going up the gallops. It is an essential time for there learning and development and we are very pleased with the bunch we have. We still have a few aswell as shares left for sale they would make a lovely Christmas present!

We have had a few runners on the all weather including LILLY VEGA who got off the mark at the fourth time of asking after previously finishing second also at Chelmsford and having a very unlucky stumble at Catterick that unseated the jockey Ben Curtis. She will now have a small break before running again next season.

GEORGIAN BAY has been kept busy on the all weather that seems to be his preferred surface with a good strike rate on the synthetic tracks. He was unlucky to be beat by a nose in a photo finish at Chelmsford under our new assigned stable jockey Dougie Costello. He can regularly be a bit slow out of the stalls which can cost him the race as he needs to race handily like when he won the London Mile comfortably at Kempton. He will continue to run on the all weather through this season.

BANDIT BOB a lovely imposing son of Manduro who has a 2016 Derby entry got collared in a photo finish at Kempton in a maiden ridden by Dougie Costello. He will now have a break and time to mature into his large frame ahead of his three year old campaign.

WINGS OF ESTEEM ran a promising race first time out finishing second in a maiden at Southwell, she is a late maturing Sir Percy filly who has always looked a lovely filly but has just been backward and needed time to mature in to herself. The run will have brought her on leaps and bounds and we are looking forward to seeing her out next season.

YOU'RE FIRED makes it back to back wins when scoring nicely under Danny Tudhope at Nottingham in very testing conditions. RITA'S BOY then made it a quick fire double when landing the sprint under Ben Curtis, he is a horse who loves the soft going and with ideal conditions in place he ran out a ready winner.

FELIX LEITER is a very consistent horse who finished in the frame once again when placed second under Joey Haynes in the Apprentice race at the closing meeting of the Turf at Doncaster. He will now have a well earned winter break and hopefully come out as a four year old stronger and matured.

We have had a good few seconds this month with ADA MISOBEL, SOUTHERN GAILES, YEEOOW & GEORGIAN BAY all running good races just finding one to strong on the all weather circuit.
