WE'LL SHAKE HANDS makes it two consecutive wins..
Wed, July 27, 2016
WE'LL SHAKE HANDS makes it two consecutive wins under Clifford Lee when taking the Yarmouth handicap. He made the running then got headed but battled back gamely to win by a nose in a photo finish. He seems to have gained confidence and the duo get on very well.
We were delighted with TAHOO winning at York to get owner John Dance his first ever winner at the track given a fine ride by Jordan Vaughan. She is a small filly but very tough and game and that was her second win in four runs.
APRES MIDI went down by a head in her Carlisle maiden after fighting off her first challenger she got collared on the line by a late closer. The lovely bred daughter of Galileo should be getting her head in front before long.
INTENSE TANGO made all under Clifford Lee to finish second on her first run at the new All weather track at Newcastle.
SAN SEBASTIANA makes a winning debut...
Wed, July 20, 2016
SAN SEBASTIANA makes a winning debut at Doncaster. The daughter of Power settled in the rear and came through the pack on the far side to take her debut comfortably under Dougie Costello in a fine fashion. She should defiantly come on for the experience and she looked to beat some nice horses.
MICOLYS a French bred filly took the spoils on her second racecourse attempt under Ben Curtis, she is a tough filly who battled back after being lent on by the runner up all the way up the straight at Ayr but she got on top close home. She enjoyed the ease in the ground and looks like she will get further, she may head to France for the French premiums in the near future.
WE'LL SHAKE HANDS got his head back in front under a well judged ride from yard apprentice Clifford Lee at Nottingham in the apprentice race .
COPPER BAKED had no luck in running having jumped a bit slow she found herself having to be taken back and around the field before she could eventually get a clear run and run on to finish a close third beaten around 1 length. She is a big raw filly who will come on in time.
JAYKAY was back to a bit of form when second at Ayr where he has a very good strike rate, he has struggled this year as he has been so high in the handicap after his impressive four wins last season. We hope to get his head infront soon but will have to wait until the rain arrives.
QUIET REFLECTION did us proud again...
Tue, July 12, 2016
QUIET REFLECTION did us proud again to finish a very respectable third in the Darley July Cup behind Limato. The ground dried up to Good to firm ground and this was the first time she had encountered these types of fast conditions but she dug deep and stuck to it to beat some world class sprinters. She is defiantly a better filly with some give under foot and she will now have a few weeks break as she has had a few quick races before starting her preparations for an Autumn campaign.
AZZIR lands the apprentice handicap under a well judged ride from our apprentice Clifford Lee, Clifford has gone from strength to strength since joining us and we are really pleased with his improvement he is an apprentice with a bright future ahead of him.
RIVIERE ARGENTEE won under Ben Curtis on the second time of asking enjoying the rain softened ground and the uphill climb at Carlisle. She is a French bred filly who qualifies for the French premiums so could head out to France to take advantage of that in the near future.
USED TO BE ran a solid race second time out at Doncaster stepped up in trip to six furlongs, he chased home an impressive well regarded winner so there looks more to come from him.
WINGS OF ESTEEM was narrowly touched off on her final start for us at Yarmouth she then headed to the sale where she was purchased for £18,000 we wish her new connections luck with her.
TAHOO may be small physically but she has plenty of guts and determination and ran a great race as rank outsider in a York nursery under Joey Haynes to finish second beating a Listed winner.
BAIE D'AMOUR finished second at Hamilton not being able to quite peg back the leader, she should improve with a step up in trip and better ground.
YOUARTISONFIRE gets his head back in front
Tue, July 5, 2016
YOUARTISONFIRE gets his head back in front winning the Claimer at Doncaster in the hands of Jordan Vaughan. He is one of the yards old favourites we have had him since a yearling and he has done us proud with six wins to his name including some valuable handicaps so it was great to see him get his head back in front.
EXPLOSIVE POWER also got his head back in front for the first time this year when battling on strong to win at Carlisle. He now heads to the Horses in Training July Sale.
SEDUCE ME came on a bundle from her first run to win her her maiden by six lengths at Ripon under a hands and heels ride from Joey Haynes. She has really come to herself in the last few weeks and had been going nicely at home so we were very hopeful she could progress a lot on her first run.
We also had a lot of placed horses over the past week over various different race tracks. We now have a busy week ahead with plenty of runners and over 20 entries in the July horse in training sale at Tattersalls.
