We have had an incredibly busy year with some massive highs and we rounded off the sales season at Tattersalls at the mares sale selling our dual Group one winner QUIET REFLECTION to Coolmore stud for 2.1 million. It was a day of mixed emotions having been immensely proud of all her achievements in the three seasons we have had to train her. She won at group level at 2,3 and 4 including the highlights when she won The Group 1 Commonwealth stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock in the same year. We are all delighted that she is heading off to Coolmore and is set to go to Galileo. We also said good bye to INTENSE TANGO who was also sold to stud, we have trained her for the past few years and she gained black type when winning the Listed mares hurdle at Doncaster and was one part of the double at Haydock in which Quiet Reflection won the Sprint cup.

Nearly all the yearlings now are ridden away and most have been up the gallops, its always an enjoyable time seeing them learn and progress. We have also nominated three horses to go to Dubai for the Carnival in January.

HELEN SHERBET was given a tremendous ride by Jockey Ben Curtis who never gave up and drove out the filly to her first victory  at Southwell to give owners Stephen Lock and Jeff Craft there first winner. Stephen bred the daughter of Makfi so we were delighted to get a first win under her belt. She is a tough filly who should keep on improving.

CHAMPAGNE PINK won her second race in less than two weeks as she won the handicap under Clifford Lee at Wolverhampton. The track seems to suit her well there and she will continue to be campaigned on the all weather before maybe heading out to France as she is qualified for the french premiums.

All at Spigot lodge were very sad to loose one of the oldest members of the team in Yeeoow who sadly had to be put to rest after breaking a front leg at Lingfield. We have had Yeeoow since a yearling and he has been part of the furniture here winning 6 times and placed in 18 races. Its never easy to loose a horse and is defiantly the hardest part about working with animals.
